Prey turned predator she aims to even the score-one bullet at a time starting with the beast that changed her life forever. Prepared for Armageddon she's in for the fight of her life. But when mortally wounded by a diseased and insane Were, Lily is rescued by a most unlikely savior-Were-hunter, Sean Leighton. Sexy and powerful, Leighton is charged with destroying anything infected with the deadly pathogen threatening the survival of his pack, and that includes Lily. But their immediate attraction leaves them both breathless and confused. As Lily grapples with truth about herself, Leighton is faced with the looming reality that he will most likely have to kill the woman he's falling in love with. Only time will tell if they are destined to be together or if they'll fall victim to the Hunter's Blood.

What can I say about this authors debut novella?  How many ways, and in how many languages, can I say "awesome"?  Well, I can only say it in one (unless I can use a translation program). Awesome! I was truly blown away by the writing of this author.  Ms. Morea truly has a passion for what she is writing.  The writing is fast paced, well written and well edited.

The characters in
Hunter's Blood  take on lives of their own.  They come alive on the pages as Ms. Morea crafts her spell upon the reader. Each one of the main characters speaks with a unique voice that does not get lost.  Lily is a very determined and pissed off woman, hell bent on revenge.  I felt the energy and anger in the way she walks through the early pages of the story.  I felt for Lily, over her loss of someone she thought of and felt was family. Lily changes through the course of the story, becoming more self-aware. and perhaps less vengeful as she meets some of the secondary characters in the story.  Her growth manifests itself in her interactions with other people, as she realizes that maybe revenge is not what she wants anymore.  Lily has attributes that most women would die to have, all in one place. She is beautiful, soft and graceful, yet strong and capable of defending herself and those she loves.

“No. You look great. But who are you and what have you done with Lily?”
Without batting an eye Lily pivoted, landing a perfect spinning back kick to his solar plexus. Pivoting back around she stood, head cocked to one side and her hands on her hips watching him recover his breath.
“Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?” She teased.
Sean’s hand shot out like lightening. Grabbing her wrist in one fluid motion, he pulled her down catching her around her waist. Dipping her back he growled low, licking her throat from her cleavage to her ear. “You should be.”
Lily shivered at the feel, but gritted her teeth. “Don’t presume there’s no fist in the glove just because it’s made of something soft.”

Sean:  What can I say about Sean?  Predatory. Sexy. Alpha male. Protector of his species. Sean has no choice, but to be the protector, even though it means hunting one of his own.  He meets Lily while doing that very thing.  Sean's voice is strong. I put myself right where he was, and understood why he was doing it.  I put myself into the story.  Sean does not have it easy in his position. Wealthy though he may be, he has opposition to his goals.  Sean does not want to fall for Lily, but can't seem to help himself.  The chemistry flies when these two headstrong delightful characters come together.

Terry:  Wow! How do you turn a ghost into a focus?  Terry, Lily's former partner, is a shade.  Try as she might, she can't convince Lily to give up seeking revenge.  Terry is absent for a portion of the book, which was a shame because I want to know her better. What she was like when she was alive?  Was she as headstrong then as she is as a ghost?  Terry adds humanity to Lily's quest for revenge against all weres, triggered by her death under the claws of a were.

Some people do not like cliff hanger endings. I am decidedly one of those people. The cliff that Ms. Morea left me hanging on is pretty damn high so all I can say is GET ME THE NEXT ONE SOON!  And make it longer next time so I can savor the deliciousness of the story for a while longer.
